Meet the Francesco Mums!
At Francesco Hair Salon, family isn’t just a concept, it’s a way of life. As we approach Mother’s Day, we take a moment to honour the incredible mothers who have not only shaped their families but have also contributed to the success of Francesco Hair Salon. Let’s dive into the heartwarming stories of these remarkable women and their families.
The Founding Family: Philippa, Mia & Ben
The story of Francesco Hair Salon begins with the Dellicompagni family. Philippa and Frank laid the foundation over 50 years ago, and their legacy lives on through their children, Mia and Ben.
Philippa reminisces about the humble beginnings and expresses her pride in seeing her children carry on the family business:
I don’t think we ever foresaw the group growing to the size that it is today! Mia was always very creative and artistic, so it seemed a natural progression for her to go into hairdressing, Ben came into it much later after university but very much more on the business and management side. Both of them have inherited the passion for running a family business and I’m very proud of both of them and I have every faith in them to take Francesco Hair into the future.
Mia reflects on her upbringing within Francesco Hair Salon and the strong sense of unity it fosters:
The best part of being in a family business is the unity we have. It keeps us together and gives us a deeper understanding and passion for the business, and of course each other.
Ben shares his fond memories of growing up in the salon and his admiration for Francesco Hair Salon’s family culture:
I love the culture of Francesco Hair Salon, it’s a family and it spreads throughout all we do, it makes me very proud.
Weeping Cross Wonder Women: Andrea & Evie
Andrea’s long standing tenure at Francesco Hair Salon as Director of Operations paved the way for her daughter Evie to embark on her own hairdressing career at the age of 14. Andrea expresses her joy in witnessing Evie’s growth:
I love being able to see Evie up on stage at an Francesco Awards Night collecting an award for her hairdressing, it makes me so proud.
Evie shares her early memories of growing up in the salon and the unique opportunity it provided:
I have had my hair done at Weeping Cross salon since the age of 5, which is lovely because it is the same salon where I became a full-time Master Colour Expert, I’ve grown up there! I’m now Graduate Salon Manager at the Stafford Academy.
I especially love it when she brings me my lunch at work!
Bridle Road Beauties: Sheena and Mackenzie
Sheena’s dedication to Francesco Hair Salon for 12 years has inspired her daughter Mackenzie to follow in her footsteps. Mackenzie’s journey as an apprentice is guided by her mother’s expertise, and their shared passion for hairdressing creates a nurturing environment at Bridle Road. Sheena shares her pride in her daughter’s enthusiasm and journey from Apprentice to now Senior Stylist:
I love having the chance to watch her grow, her enthusiasm and her appreciation of her opportunity.
Mackenzie expresses her gratitude for her mother’s guidance:
I learn a lot from my mum, even though I may not always agree with her advice. I especially love it when she brings me my lunch at work!
