FG Apprenticeships is a leading independent training provider specialising in hairdressing apprenticeships. With a commitment to excellence, we aim to empower our apprentices with the skills confidence and creativity needed to thrive in the hairdressing industry and to create strong partnerships with apprentices and employers.
We have 3 state-of-the-art training academies, located in Stafford, Birmingham and Poole, Dorset and deliver hairdressing training to over 270 apprentices per year and have training partnerships with over 120 employers who are based across the UK.
Apprenticeships Recruitment & Onboarding Officer

Role Overview
To support our growth and commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Apprenticeships Recruitment and Onboarding Officer to join our dedicated team.
The Apprenticeships Recruitment and Onboarding Officer will play a key role in the recruitment, onboarding and placement of apprentices within our network of employer partners. They will ensure that every apprentice begins their journey with the right foundation, providing outstanding support to both apprentices and employers throughout the process. Once an applicant is successfully placed with an employer, the Apprenticeships Recruitment and Onboarding Officer will provide effective IAG to prepare the apprentice and their employer for the learning journey ahead.
Key Responsibilities
• Recruitment
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, conducting interviews and matching candidates to suitable employers.
Follow and utilise FG Apprenticeships’ robust recruitment process, putting forward quality candidates for interviews and trials with employers.
Fill vacancies with the best apprentices through effective recruitment procedures to hit the company’s annual recruitment targets.
• Onboarding
Provide a seamless onboarding experience for apprentices, ensuring all necessary documentation, eligibility checks and induction processes are completed.
Act as the first point of contact for apprentices, employers and internal teams, offering support and guidance throughout the onboarding process.
• Apprentice & Employer Liaison
Build and maintain strong relationships with salons and employers to understand their apprenticeship needs and ensure effective recruitment matches.
Provide an outstanding experience and IAG for all applicants and employers.
Provide signposting information to other qualifications and programmes to applicants who are unsuccessful in gaining an apprenticeship.
Provide advice on apprenticeship programs, funding and compliance requirements.
• Compliance and Administration
Ensure all recruitment and onboarding processes adhere to government funding and regulatory requirements,
Maintain accurate records on internal systems and provide regular updates to the management team.
Produce weekly and monthly reports on applicants and vacancies.
Requirements
Previous experience in recruitment onboarding, or a similar role (experience within apprenticeships or education is desirable).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A proactive, solution-focused mindset with a passion for supporting young people and apprentices.
Knowledge of the hairdressing industry or vocational training would be a bonus.
IAG qualifications would be desirable, but not essential.
